TruthChewer User Principles
Just as the TruthChewer Podcast seeks to demonstrate the possibility of discussing difficult theological topics in a constructive way, the TruthChewer Community is dedicated to welcoming users into a diverse community of constructive theological reflection. There are a number of important principles that are key to making this community work.
- Honesty: Participation in difficult conversations requires not just the courage to express oneself, but also a face, a name and a story. Truth must be transparent! For this reason, a user’s participation on the site will always be connected to their personal identity: name, face and email. No anonymity.
- Diversity: Diversity makes the search for truth both rich and difficult. Simple is pleasant. Homogeneity is comforting. But Christianity is a faith of many perspectives on one Truth. Your convictions are more complex than for/against, yes/no. We want that diversity represented in all our conversations.
- Respect: The Truth is real and discoverable, but it exists in the space between people with diverse viewpoints. How you engage with those who differ from you is just as important as what you believe. For this reason, the TruthChewer community allows for flagging of inappropriate content, blocking of profiles, and reporting of abuse. Any profile that has been reported 10 times will be automatically suspended. Suspensions can be appealed and reversed at the discretion of site administrators.
